Michael Gale founded Vectis Research in 2010 after a 20 year career in engineering development and management. Prior to founding Vectis Research, Michael was Director of Engineering at Ultra Electronics Ottawa after Ultra had acquired Telemus Inc. in 2007. From 1994 until 2007, Michael progressed from an initial role as systems engineer up to his appointment as Vice President Engineering and CTO of Telemus in 2002.
Michael thrives on challenging and unique engineering design projects. He has enjoyed and has indeed practiced in all the major engineering design aspects including RF design, analog circuit design, digital design (including FPGA development in Verilog), software development at both low-level C code for embedded processors up to high-level UI software on platforms such as MS Windows and recently, Apple iOS. This broad skill set has enabled Michael to see a systems engineering project from every facet of design and integration. He speaks the language of each of the detailed disciplines which enables cohesive team integration and high productivity.
Michael has a passion for excellence in design and attention to detail. Pride in one's work and respect for craftsmanship are among the values held in Michael's highest esteem.
Michael holds a B.A.Sc. and M.Sc. in electrical engineering from Queen's University, Kingston, and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and Association of Old Crows (AOC).
